Waiting on Wednesday: The Witness by Nora Roberts

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights eagerly anticipated upcoming releases!

It's no secret that I love Nora Roberts's books. But what's so special about The Witness is that it's NR's 200th book. 200th!!!! I've read probably 75% of her novels and I'm still hooked. The woman is amazing.

The Witness Cover Title: The Witness
Author: Nora Roberts
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Putnam
Release Date: April 17, 2012

Book Description (from Nora Roberts's website):

Daughter of a controlling mother, Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever.

Twelve years later, the woman known as Abigail Lowery lives on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she designs sophisticated security systems—and supplements her own security with a fierce dog and an assortment of firearms. She keeps to herself, saying little, revealing nothing. But Abigail’s reserve only intrigues police chief Brooks Gleason. Her logical mind, her secretive nature, and her unromantic viewpoints leave him fascinated but frustrated. He suspects that Abigail needs protection from something—and that her elaborate defenses hide a story that must be revealed.

Hi,
I have not read many Nora Roberts books. Out of the few I have read I have my favorites but I don't usually go out of my way to look for her books. That said after reading your excerpt, I am definitely putting this one on my TBR pile. Thanks! :)

I'm really curious about Nora Roberts novels. Some of them seem to be very great, but the majority of the ones I read so far (few) weren't all that great. :/ This one, though, seems to be right up my alley! :)

Oh, I didn't even know this was coming out! Shame on me, and I call myself a NR fan?!?!

I think I've read 90 percent of her books (if not more) and loved pretty much every single one. I'm still hooked on her work, and I'm defintely putting this one on my list-as well as keeping a better eye out for her upcoming releases!

Enjoy!
