I've been eyeing this book since before it came out and I finally bought it last night. So far, 45 Pounds (More or Less) is a beautifully written story that strikes a chord with me. At times it can be funny, but it's also quite sad in parts. What I find most compelling about the story so far is that it's very realistic.
Teaser:
"I'm struck with self-consciousness. How can I tell her that I want to go on another diet? That I need to lose weight before the wedding. Any idiot can see that if you don't want to be fat, you shouldn't eat so much. You should move more. Any idiot could see that. Any idiot is smarter than me."

Sounds like a fun read. Losing weight is never easy--well, unless you are very sick.

This book sure seems like it could be good or torturous. I'm not sure which way it would go.

Sounds like someone is a little too hard on themselves, and that would be hard for me to get through reading.
